[Bug 886887] Re: screen saver after going into blank screen, resumes to all-white screen, no unlock dialog

 

Not sure if this is a useful data point, but:

I ended up installing xubuntu-desktop (sudo aptitude install xubuntu-
desktop) and have been using xubunut/xfce for the past week.  The
problem did not reoccur until today (five days later).

I did the same workaround as before: closed the laptop to put it in
suspend mode and then resumed.  I had to unplug it from battery power to
get it to go into suspend on close, but I think that's just an xfce
settings detail.

I'm not sure what might have caused the issue to crop up today as
opposed to the preceding five days. Two difference in usage today are
that I'm using abiword to view an MS Word document, and I have the XFCE
file browser (Thunar) open.
