[Bug 411075] [NEW] upon install of destop 9.4 iso video display is disrupted. Uing ATI video card running Fire GL

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I am using a Radon ATI video card, Radon 9000 AGP4x with 128MB DDR/128
BIT RAM with Core Clock Speed: 200 MHz. As soon as the "Live" CD starts
to install the video becomes unrecognizable with only white boxes
visible on the lower 75% of the display. I also tried this insall on an
old computer with 6MB RAM and 4GB hard drive. After 24 hours it hung on
Partitionaing Virtual Drives at 68%.

I really had hoped to use your OS on some older computers which I would
upgrade to 256 MB of RAM and at least 80 GB. I tried to use a Linux
based system 2 years ago and found the hardware requirements for
Linspire were dinosuars and virtually impossible to collect.

Is there any free Linux based OS that will install in contemporary
equipment? I do not think my video card is at all "high end"???

Also can I install your OS on compeely wiped/unformatted HD's? If not
what formatting needs to occur???

Thanks, I hope:

Dr. Snyder
