[Bug 892677] [NEW] X server freeze
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I'm getting X freezes that matches the description of the problem listed
here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze on a new ubuntu
11.10 install on a Thinkpad T60. The freeze has happened on several
occasions: a few times while on wifi with libreoffice and firefox open,
other times when the laptop was idle with only firefox running on
ethernet.
dmesg says:
[ 4824.350997] NMI: PCI system error (SERR) for reason a1 on CPU 0.
[ 4824.351003] Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
[ 6277.219752] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at (null)
[ 6277.219760] IP: [<f82278ee>] radeon_read_ring_rptr+0x1e/0x30 [radeon]
Xorg.0.log says:
[ 4836.859] [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an
infinite loop.
dmesg, lspci and Xorg.0.log attached.
