[Bug 875038] [NEW] Cannot set dual display with radeon driver on Oneiric

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Unity fails to load correctly even though the Unity plugin is checked in compiz (verified with ccsm).
I only see the Nautlus menus at the top of screen and the Unity launchbar is missing.

I have tried setting the mirrored display as dual display with gnome-
control-center display but it only shows a single "Unknown" monitor
which I cannot set as a dual display.

As a related aside, I also cannot set the dual display with fglrx and
have tried with both a radeon 5770 and a 5870 so I am sure it is not a
hardware fault.
