[Bug 290226] Re: unable to switch keyboard layouts
I face the same problem with Oneiric.
I have been customizing my keyboard layout in Ubuntu for years (a french typing on US layout...), and since Oneiric, my keyboard layout is lost at every reboot.
Curiously, if I remove it and add it again in Keyboard layout settings, it is loaded well.
I just add key maps lines in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us (the same
lines for years) in alt-intl section.
And it is well referenced in /etc/default/keyboard :
XKBLAYOUT="us"
XKBVARIANT="alt-intl"
I would love to at least have a command to remove/add the keyboard layout so that it gets reloaded at startup automatically :)
