Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

You're reporting two issues  here: one having to do with the backlight
and the other with the touchpad not working. These should really be
filed as separate issues.

I'll set this bug to xorg, so it will be about the brightness problem.
Then I'd appreciate if you could do the following, to attach relevant
debugging information to this report, and create a new one about the
touchpad problem.

Open a terminal (press ctrl-alt-t) and:

To update this bug with info about the brightness problem, use:
apport-collect 902469

To create a new bug for the touchpad problem, use:
ubuntu-bug linux

Also we have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
