[Bug 92599] Re: Incorrect (low/stuttering) refresh rate with NVIDIA driver
Daniel, I resetted unity (--reset) and tried both your compiz and unity packages (vv7 and vv5 respectively).
The combination of both solved my performance problems almost completely, putting unity on par with gnome-shell.
However, it seems to me that performance is still a little better when *not* using twinview.
I've used the PC for some days and I've not seen any issue. Just one
time, when looking at a youtube video, compiz froze and I had to switch
to another VT to restart lightdm. That was quite annoying given the lack
of a ctrl-alt-canc substitute in ubuntu.
Finally, bug #888039 is still here. Moving windows after hours of
usage, and some suspend/resume cycles, goes at a low framerate.
restarting X solves the problem.
Thank you for the moment, keep up with you good work!
