[Bug 659205] Re: [fglrx] fails to detect correct resolution with non-multiple of 64 virtual desktop area
OK, I got it going with a work-around. I went with the mod-64 idea on
the resolution, along with the remark about setting the maximum for my
card, which I believe is a vertical resolution of 1080. So I used a
setting for Virtual of 3008 1080. Now I no longer get the "width too
large" message, and xrandr reports all proper resolutions as desired. I
can now do this:
xrandr --auto --output CRT1 --mode 1600x900 --left-of LVDS
It seems there may be a bug in the fglrx driver which requires this
fiddling with the width/height Virtual sizes until you get something
that works.
