ok just closed over and opened up and its all good.

there's still some glitchyness like little pixelated bits stuck on overlay on my screen but i think thats cos i use avant-window-navigator, docky and cairo dock. yes i know, OTT. but thats what ubuntu is all about right? anyway..thanks for the help all.
I'll keep an eye out here and try and help if i can.
