Sorry for the late reply, well none of the debug methods actually worked
for me. But I can supply more details about this.

I moved my monitors.xml, and the screen flickers after login, and
sometimes the overlay that indicates the change in brightness remain on
the screen also. But after I right click the display icon from the
systray both of these issues simply go away, the overlay disappears and
the screen doesn't flicker anymore.

I don't think these bugs are connected because of the thing I found out.
