Actually, I had to downgrade to nvidia 180 because nvidia 185.18.31 had a bug in my laptop and X didn't start at all. However, nvidia had another bug for this driver and X crashed for some applications like smplayer, kaffeine, kdevelop... whenever, for instance I opened the open file window, among others. Such two bugs have been already fixed with the new nvidia 185.18.36, but the original situation descripted here came back again. So now everything is working properly but when I try to restart X. When I do that X doesn't restart and I have to reboot the system.
Do you know any way to avoid this? Is anyone suffering the same or is it just me?
