[Bug 413886] [NEW] Middle button click disables middle click emulation
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Ubuntu 9.04 with the latest updates. Don't know if this happened in 8.10
since I didn't use it long enough to know. My Logitech cordless mouse
("ImExPS/2 Logitech Explorer Mouse" according to xinput) has 2 buttons
and a scroll wheel. I have no customizations of the HAL files or
xorg.conf.
1) In a terminal window, for example, highlight some text.
2) Click both left and right buttons: the highlighted text is pasted as expected.
3) Click the middle button (scroll wheel): the highlighted text is pasted as expected
4) Click both left and right buttons: a menu appears and whatever is under the pointer is selected.
4 continues to occur for l-r clicks until X is restarted (logout or
kill). I've tried disabling the middle button via 'xinput set-button-map
"ImExPS/2 Logitech Explorer Mouse" 1 0 3 ...", which disables it's paste
function, but clicking it still disables the emulation. The output of
both 'xinput list' and 'lshal' remains unchanged when before and after
outputs are compared.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-mouse (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
