Message #18768
[Bug 423047] Re: xorg-edgers regression: screen corruption in blender
** Description changed:
- Binary package hint: libdrm-intel1
+ Binary package hint: libgl1-mesa-dri
- When I upgraded to the newest xorg-edgers packages before last weekend blender started to show screen corruption depending on where the mouse moved. See the attached video for details.
- The upgrade changed among other things the package libdrm-intel1 to:
- 2.4.12+git20090825.ce6c68dc-0ubuntu0tormod3
- Forcing this package down via synaptic to the libdrm-intel1 version currently in karmic:
- 2.4.12+git20090801.45078630-0ubuntu1 made the screen corruptions in blender go away and allowed me to do normal mesh-editing work in blender.
+ I upgraded xorg-edgers packages on 2009-08-29 16:16 MEST.
+ This changed among others this package:
+ libgl1-mesa-dri (7.6.0~git20090825.87f83e19-0ubuntu0tormod) to 7.6.0~git20090829.00413d87-0ubuntu0tormod2.
+ A downgrade of all the xorg-edgers ppa packages and subsequent package by package upgrade along with digging in the history of synaptics ascertained that it is this particular upgrade of libgl1-mesa-dri that caused screen corruption in blender as shown in the attached video. Along with that Extreme Tux Racer lost half its performance.
+
+ The above is an edit/complete rewrite of the original bug report. My
+ comments in the comment section below show what led to this rewrite. The
+ rest here below is original.
Please let me know if you need further information or testing to resolve
this regression.
