[Bug 409530] Re: Jaunty nvidia-settings dualscreen (seperate X screens) amd64 issues

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

  Description:	Ubuntu 9.04
  Release:	9.04

  nvidia-settings:
    Installed: 180.25-0ubuntu1
    Candidate: 180.25-0ubuntu1
    Version table:
   *** 180.25-0ubuntu1 0
          500 http://se.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
  Linux 2.6.28-14-generic #47-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux

#1 For the settings to be saved I need to run nvidia-settings from a
terminal with sudo and select not to merge with the old config two get
  my new screen options saved.

#2 I'm unable to switch places with the screens , this setting does not
get saved. Forcing by editing the config file seams to have no effect.

- #3 Firefox cannot launch on the secondary screen , the desktop will just
- crash and restart itself and firefox will never startup
-
- #4 All applications launched from the menu and/or panel on the secondary
- screen ends up getting started on the primary screen.
+ Problem 3 and 4 is solved in with the PPA package "glib2.0 - 2.20.1-0ubuntu3~tj~ppa1j"
+ #3 Firefox cannot launch on the secondary screen , the desktop will just crash and restart itself and firefox will never startup
+ #4 All applications launched from the menu and/or panel on the secondary screen ends up getting started on the primary screen.

I had the exact same problem with another Jaunty installation that used
a nvidia card. The workaround to that computer was to switch places with
the monitor cables , however this is not an option on this computer
since it's a laptop. And I edited the gnome terminal (and other
applications in the panel) with a defined "DISPLAY=" in properties.
