I did a fresh Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 5 install (which luckily already
included your newer drivers) at seems that the problems are gone. I
would still like to use the system a little longer before being sure.

I definitely ran into less problems during the upgrade progress until
now karmic. Means: that kind of disordered graphics like on the first
screenshot I did not get anymore since a long time.

I do have still some really very small glitches as you can see in my new
screenshot, though they are really very tiny and get removed when moving
the window or so.
