[Bug 381956] [NEW] display not aligned with monitor

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

I am using the Kubuntu 9.04 live CD on a Dell Dimension 2350 with an
Intel Celeron processor and an unknown amount of RAM. The monitor is a
regular Dell flatscreen. I boot from the CD when I try to run Kubuntu.
It enters the Kubuntu boot menu. When I choose to boot regularly from
the CD, the loading bar works, fills up, the computer works for a while,
then I get a blank screen. When I try to boot under Safe Graphics, it
boots fine except the edges of the desktop are not aligned with the
edges of the monitor's display. Everything not displayed is still
clickable, I just can't see it. There is a black border that the desktop
would fill up provided it was in the right place. I don't know if this
is a bug in KDE or in Kubuntu.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
