[Bug 397617] Re: brightness no more working on karmic (KMS)
I'm not sure if I really use KMS but I added an option to the kernelboot in order to disable it:

Still unable to dim the display. When using the hotkeys on my laptop I
get a notificationwindow showing the dimming of the backlight but it
does not actually happen.
