[Bug 419080] [NEW] touchpad no longer works after update
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
After a successful system update and reboot, touchpad was no longer working.
However, an external USB mouse worked just fine.
root@sussch-laptop:/# cat /dev/psaux
was silent during mouse movement.
root@sussch-laptop:/# modprobe -l | grep psmouse
/lib/modules/2.6.24-24-generic/kernel/drivers/input/mouse/psmouse.ko
So, the module was loaded, but the touchpad still wasn't working.
root@sussch-laptop:/# rmmod psmouse
root@sussch-laptop:/# modprobe psmouse proto=imps
And the touchpad works again (without scrolling though) until a reboot /
shutdown is made.
root@sussch-laptop:/# lsb_release -rd
