I just updated to latest karmic and rebooted. It survived for a whole
111 pings before disappearing.

64 bytes from 10.10.10.103: icmp_seq=110 ttl=64 time=3.50 ms
64 bytes from 10.10.10.103: icmp_seq=111 ttl=64 time=3.37 ms
>From 10.10.10.100 icmp_seq=145 Destination Host Unreachable
>From 10.10.10.100 icmp_seq=146 Destination Host Unreachable

Screen is blank and nothing is responsive.
