[Bug 419196] [NEW] Backslash key inoperative in spanish eee PC

Computer: Asus eee PC 901, spanish keyboard
Distro: Ubuntu 9.04

The backslash key (non-shifted º, shifted ª, alg-gr \) does not work,
either in the text console or in any X application that I have tried.
None of the three symbols in that key appear when the key is pressed.

In gnome "keyboard combinations" applet, it is not detected (if I try to
set it up for some shortcut).

Other symbols needed in Spanish languages work OK
(ÁÉÍÓÚÜÀÈÌÒÙáéíóúüàèìòù¿¡ÑñÇç)

This happens in Gnome, as well as in the text (non-X) terminals.

I do not know how to get the scan codes for that key: please, tell me
how to get them and I will post the information.
