I'm running the latest karmic release and the bug is still here. I don't
know maybe I should install specific drivers or modules ... but my basic
installation is still displaying this tearing effect when playing videos
(appears most during fast horizontal travelling).

My configuration is the following:
 - ubuntu karmic 9.10
 - kernel 2.6.31-11
 - ati hd4850
 - driver radeonhd
