Message #24665
[Bug 442645] [NEW] eGalax based touchscreen and xorg
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Binary package hint: plasma-netbook
I have an eee PC netbook which I've installed an eGalax based
touchscreen. The drivers for this need the xserver-xorg-input-mouse
package installed and an xorg.conf in order to work.
I installed the input-mouse package and created an empty xorg.conf file
in /etc/X11 as needed to allow the drivers to compile and install,
however they still do not work. X is loading without using an xorg.conf
file, obviously getting it's configuration somewhere else.
I've tried both kubuntu and ubuntu plasma-netbook versions with the same
results.
This is a popular touchscreen chipset for the netbooks, and this needs
to be resolved before the 9.10 final.
I don't consider this a bug with the touchscreen drivers as you've done
away with the xorg.conf file.
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
