What size and type of monitor are you using?  I have experienced this
with the daily live-cd from yesterday, on my 18.4 inch LCD laptop
screen.  Then I tried the Beta of Karmic, and the picture was all fuzzy
(presumably as the modelines/frequencies were detected wrong).
