already answered one of your forum posts about this, so maybe you should
read that.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
  
  After version 2.9.0 the -intel driver has dropped support for UMS, and
  needs KMS enabled in the kernel. The Jaunty kernel has KMS support built
  in but needs the i915.modeset=1 boot option to enable the KMS support.
+ It is however recommended to install a Karmic kernel instead.
  
- The Karmic kernel has KMS enabled by default.
