If you select Normal or Extra in visual effects, it's impossible to use
the laptop.

With none there are some screen not refreshed correctly, like System
Monitor at least.

This laptop was working fine with 9.04, with none, and normal and extra
visual effects (slowly with effects due this laptop is a little old).
