I'm just using the one that the package manager installed and set up
for me. To force the use of the newer kernel I did:

Does that mean that xserver-xorg-video-intel should specify a minimum
ubuntu kernel version?

No sign of the prublem with 2.6.31-14-generic. I tried both pm-hibernate
and s2disk.
