Message #29596
[Bug 458697] Re: [Karmic] Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV during gdm login with high resolutions
After several tests I was able to make my Gnome session works with high
resolution. I've attach my xorg.conf.
When I set the "Depth" to 16 or 24 and the "Modes" to "1280x1024" I can
login *most* of the time. It seems that there is a timing issue. I've
tried several times with higher resolutions but it always fails (can't
pass GDM login).
When I can start a Gnome session in 1280x1024 (24 or 16bit) I can then
set the resolution higher (up to 1600x1200) using
System->Preferences->Display.
