This appears not to be fixed for me in 2:164-2ubuntu3. Holding down any
key generates a string of KeyPress and KeyRelease events, rather than
just KeyPress. Output from the reproducer attached to the
freedesktop.org bug report:

XAutoRepeatOn returns 1
XkbSetDetectableAutoRepeat returns 1, supported = 1
