My laptop (Latitude D630) is having the same symptoms. However it does
seem to be only the case when using the touchpad, when connecting an USB
mouse there is no freeze-up what so ever.

Maybe it's totally unrelated as I'm not using any nvidia drivers and
such (intel ones for the display), but just in case I added my 2¢.
Before Karmic upgrade everything worked fine.
