[Bug 447892] Re: [i855GM] Freeze shortly after X startup on Intel i855

 

The first gpu dump provided by kalessin shows a mix of 2D and 3D
instructions without flushes in between. The latest -intel driver from
xorg-edgers contains a new debugging option [1][2] that may help to fix
this problem, but it has to be enabled by adding an option to xorg.conf.

Kalessin, it would be very interesting if you could test xserver-xorg-video-intel from xorg-edgers again, this time also adding the line: 
 Option "DebugFlushCaches" "1" 
to the driver section in xorg.conf (similar to the DRI option in comment 19).
