[Bug 473848] Re: With or without the NVIDIA driver installed the system while booting appears to initially detect and display the correct resolution 1920x1200 but late in the boot-process it reverts (regardless of correct and trouble-free procedure for saving) to 1280x1024
The problem existed with previous versions of Ubuntu and also with Mint.
The problem does not exist when I run Sabayon with exactly the same
hardware.
Have two different monitors so the bug is with near enough certainty
independent of this component.
The identical problem appears to exist when I run other Debian based
distros (both 64 and 32 bit) and on Suse 64 bit.
[I will soon find out if the bug is reproducible on the latest Mepis 64,
and the latest Mandriva 64 and BSDanywhere 4.6.]
