I have probilly the same problem. I can make connection and can see the
desktop. The mouse moves on de desktopsreen but the screen don't
refresh. It accepts de commands from the mouse and the keyboard. When i
close the viewer and start it up again the screen has changed. I am new
and don't have experience with ubuntu. For me the following solution
works. I only have the problem when i boot up the ubuntu machine without
a monitor. When i connect a monitor VNC works well. I now boot with a
standard monitor and after booting i disconnect the monitor. I think for
a lot op people this can be a solution. I use ubuntu 9 and on the viewer
XP pro with real VNC
