[Bug 491893] Re: Regression: no X-Server working after current updates with ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE]

The problem seems to be different since I'm not able to
deterministically start my X even with above mentioned workaround.

The manually changed xorg.conf yields to the same X-window-not-working-
handling. Neither trying to create a new config nor default low-graphics
mode is working. A service gmd restart seems to work randomly -
sometimes the screen remains black.

Last dmesg output is:
[ 64.086516] mtrr: no MTRR for f0000000,1000000 found

After that I changed a section in my xorg.conf to:
Section "Module"
# Load "glx"
# Load "GLcore"
# Load "v4l"
EndSection
an rebooted.

This yields to the same X-windows-not-working-screen. But now "Start
ubuntu in low-graphics mode" is working.

Maybe this problem is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274290
