[Bug 495063] Re: Karmic's xrandr doesn't update when connected to different external monitor
I have some additional data about this bug.
Just restarting X doesn't trigger xrandr to re-poll for the new monitor.
I have to reboot before I can connect to a new external monitor.
I also found a ton of these lines in my /var/log/messages:
Nov 27 22:07:16 x200 kernel: [ 474.120523] i915 0000:00:02.0: VGA-1: no EDID data
Nov 27 22:07:16 x200 kernel: [ 474.126200] i2c-adapter i2c-0: unable to read EDID block.
Nov 27 22:07:16 x200 kernel: [ 474.126209] i915 0000:00:02.0: VGA-1: no EDID data
Nov 27 22:07:16 x200 kernel: [ 474.324904] i2c-adapter i2c-2: unable to read EDID block.
So could this be an issue with i915 or the i2c modules?
