[Bug 494680] Re: [i945GM] X server segfault on lid close
Well, things are "different" now, but not better. I now get the
following crash instead:
Backtrace:
0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x28) [0x4a1ff8]

7: /lib/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xfd) [0x7fe198a63add]
8: /usr/bin/X (0x400000+0x25b39) [0x425b39]
Segmentation fault at address 0x1b8
Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting
with the added bonuses that:
- X crashes if I boot with the VGA plugged in, and drops me to failsafe X
- when the above crash happens on lid close, the display never recovers
the first problem could be caused by a concurrent kernel upgrade, the
second problem was reproducible even before a reboot.
