Message #38988
[Bug 498081] [NEW] X fails to start on Ati X600m
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
On Lucid (with updates > 18.12.) the X-Server fails to start. When I
start "normal", I don't even get a Console-Screen. Ubuntu tries to start
Gdm, but I only get the Error-message that Ubuntu runs in low graphics
mode. When I trie to exit, there is no Screen-Output at all. I have to
start Lucid with radeon.modeset=0 Kernel-Setting to get a console where
I can Login and start X with "startx" manually.
** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
