Thank you for your reply.
I installed the 180 driver from the Synaptic Package Manager. I could
not find any higher setting than 800x600 in the "Administration"
I subsequently uninstalled ("purged") the nvidia drivers and installed
the driver from Nvidia.com (the ".run" package)
