Updating was nice and fluent now. Karmic Koala is in the house :-) And
the resolution 1024x768 still works. Thanks guys!

Only thing is that when I shutdown Xubuntu, it does not power off, but
stays in text screen:"xxx login: init: usplash main process (1669)
killed by TERM signal [ 619.240433] System halted." I have to manually
power off the laptop.
