It's also the same bug in konsole (the developers copy from each other
of course).

The bug assumes that after writing to the 80th column that the next control will
affect the next line.  It does not (per vt100 compatibility).  The only thing that
takes you to the next line is by writing printable text.   Controls affect the
current position (aside from cursor-addressing, etc., of course).
