Olie, try it with KMS enabled and any AccelMethod setting in xorg.conf
deleted. It's possible it won't freeze with that setup.

If it still freezes, also try installing this version:
https://launchpad.net/~brian-rogers/+archive/graphics-
testing/+build/1437394/+files/xserver-xorg-video-
intel_2.7.99.902+git20090720.bb300738-0ubuntu1+karmic_i386.deb

That build has had more confirmation of stability (with i845, at least)
than the newer version did, so if i855 is still unstable with that, it's
probably an independent bug.
