[Bug 399745] [NEW] desktop missing a part of screen
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop using Wubi from Windows XP.
The PC is a HP Compaq nw8440 in a docking station with an external
monitor connected (Philips 240BW , 24" 1920x1200)
On first boot I updated suing the Update Manager.
Then on second boot I changed the Dsiplay settings from:
- same screen mirrored on both monitors (1680x1050)
to
- non mirrored, 1920x1200 on Philips and 1680x1050 on the laptops monitor
Result:
Part of the Philips screen (bottom and roght) is black. That is, the desktop background picture does not cover it. Furthermore if any window is dragged to that part and moved back, traces of it are left there (see screenshot).
The entire laptop monitor is the same: black, windows leave traces.
Ask for any more information.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
