[Bug 507696] [NEW] Synaptics touchpad horizontal scroll doesnt work

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu 9.10 release 9.10 all updates loaded at time of report
Dell Inspiron Mini 10v

After upgrading from Jaunty to 9.10 (both netbook remix version) the
horizontal scroll for the synaptics touch pad started working which it
did not under Jaunty. However, at some unknown point since then it has
stopped working. Updates have been loaded as available via system>update
manager.

Changing/ re- setting in system>mouse>touchpad>enable horizontal
scrolling has no effect i.e it doesn't work

Enabling SHMConfig had no effect (per
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticsTouchpad#shmconfig)

synclient -l shows HorizEdgeScroll=1 (when enabled is set)
