I don't think upgrading to Lucid would be suitable for me now. Do you
mean by "Alternatively you could try with a newer kernel from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/" - is installing a newer
kernel in Karmic from Kernel Mainline?
