I have what I assume is the same issue. Relevant versions:

$ uname -a
Linux nash 2.6.31-19-generic #56-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 28 02:39:34 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

$ dpkg -l | grep video-intel
ii  xserver-xorg-video-intel                   2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2.1                                     X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display driver

Every time I suspend/resume I have to switch to a console and then back
to X to get the video output correct as it will be strangely mirrored
otherwise. Is there anything else that I can report?
