[Bug 473948] Re: Native screen resolution not recognized with Intel X4500 and Acer AL2021 connected by DVI
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg
Not sure what's the package to blame here, xorg or the intel driver or
non of both.
I installed the actual Ubuntu Karmic release. The native resolution
(1600x1200) on my monitor (Acer AL2021) is not recognized. And xrandr
tells me that it is connected on HDMI1 although I am using DVI. I have
an intel mainboard with the X4500 graphics chipset
(http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards/dg43nb/dg43nb-
overview.htm).
I searched for the modelines to set the resolution for xrandr manually
and found them here:
http://www.prad.de/board/monitore/hilfe/17767-acer-2021-sync-problem-
bei-dvi/
I added then those lines to my ~/.xprofile:
xrandr --output HDMI1 --newmode 1600x1200_2 60 1600 1640 1760 1944 1200 1201 1202 1238 +hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode HDMI1 1600x1200
xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 1600x1200
