[Bug 493111] Re: [i945] X-Server freeze with intel 945 using Karmic

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

X-Server freezes at random occasions on Dell D620 with Intel 945 and
Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic). For details on the configuration see attached
files. No problems on same hardware when using Jaunty.

Problem is independent of whether compiz is installed and used.

Problem often occurred while scrolling in GNOME terminal. Here it is
also observed that sometimes part of the window is not shown correctly
  (just some pixels).

Running server in debug mode following error message has been obtained after crash using intel_gpu_dump utility:
  Buffer size too small in MI_STORE_DATA_INDEX (2 < 3)

Possibly duplicate of following tickets: 424613 (no activities in last
  weeks).
