Message #44830
[Bug 521495] [NEW] display applet gets confused about the screen resolution
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
My laptop has a 1280x800 screen. When I try to run an SDL game that
wants to establish 1024x768 fullscreen mode, I see my desktop on the
right and bottom, with the game in the top-left area (I should file this
bug somewhere too, but I've got no idea where -- SDL? X server?). I
then quit the game, use xrandr to select 1024x768 with "scaling mode"
set to Aspect, and run the game. When the game quits, I restore my video
mode to 1280x800 using either xrandr or gnome-display-properties.
Now for the bug: every time I close and reopen the laptop lid, my
desktop returns to 1024x768 instead of staying in 1280x800. I can press
Fn-F7 to get the system to autoconfigure, which fixes things, but I have
to do that every time after closing and reopening the lid (which also
implies every time after resuming).
