[Bug 395932] Re: [i855] No Xv support for 82852/855GM (KMS bug)
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
After upgrading to Karmic (alpha) my graphics driver is unable to
provide Xv. The following line is printed in Xorg.0.log:
(WW) intel(0): Disabling Xv because no adaptors could be initialized.
I've tried various settings in xorg.conf, with no luck.
(XvPreferOverlay, Tiling).
[Update]
- Video overlay support with KMS is now supported in xserver-xorg-video-
- intel 2.10.0. This currently requires Linux 2.6.33, but a backport to
- 2.6.32 (Lucid version) is available from http://gitorious.org/daniel-s
- -linux-stuff/linux-kernel/commits/intel-kms-overlay-for-2.6.32 .

+ From the Q4 anouncment [1]:
+ Video overlay support with KMS is now supported in xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.10.0. This currently requires Linux 2.6.33, but a backport to 2.6.32 (Lucid version) is available from [2]. Daniel Vetter intends to support this backport which is intended for distros that use kernel 2.6.32 [3]. Although the main code is in the kernel, intel driver 2.10.0 is apparently required [4].
