OpenGL renders extremely slowly with NVIDIA drivers in Lucid - this
includes Compiz, xscreensaver/skyrocket, etc. using all versions of the
driver (173, 185, 190, 195) installed by Jockey and the .run packages.
Occasionally (less than 10% of the time), the symptoms don't occur, but
otherwise, rendering is so unbearable I must use metacity and avoid all
OpenGL apps.
