Hallo,
to add my considerations:
I use an intel Video card onboard (intel atom CFL...).
There is a 7-pin connector for TV-out! There is provided both a
composite-signal and an S-video signal.
With windows xp, one can get a signal from the s-video pins. The signal
can be changed between PAL and NTSC.
With kubuntu 9.04 there was a signal at the S-video pins or at the
composite pins! Both only with NTSC format! No PAL
With kubuntu 9.10 there is only a signal at the S-Video pin. Only NTSC,
no PAL.
The command xrandr --output TV TV_Format PAL or NTSC is ignored. With
connector the same result.
I tried the 2:2.10.0 driver from
http://ppa.launchpad.net/xorg-edgers/ppa/ubuntu
It does'nt work at all. No change with the Xrandr command.
I need the PAL-Signal, because the quality ist much better than the
NTSC-signal. At the meantime I use a converter from S-video to
Composite. I would like to use the composite pins.
